Not a bad deal.  the tank, glass top, lights and stand alone is a decent price for $450.  Its like getting everything else for free.

I left a voicemail!! Thanks wvg! I can't wait!!! I have been researching Discus a little. I have yet to find them in any of the LFS I have visited. Where is a good place to eyeball them around Houston?

        Thanks,

I got some Silver Pigeons in right now for sale.

You can also check craigslist under houston pets.
I have seen them go for some good prices also.

Re: WTB: 75 to 180 gallon tank w/stand

I will have to make plans to come see them some time! right now they have me working 6-10s. Well we were one of the lucky plants that were shutdown do to the power blip Tuesday so I had the pleasure of working 16 yesterday. Should be just enough to buy your friends tank. If you don't mind could you share some knowledge on Discus tank mates not asking for a book just two or three. TIA

            Thanks,

            Jason

Re: WTB: 75 to 180 gallon tank w/stand

It all depends on who you ask the question to.
I have a planted tank with discus, glass cats, flounder, cory's & snails.
1st put the discus in it & then you add non aggresive fish in it.
Do not put the common pleco in with discus them will start attaching to the sides of the discus in time, you can use bristle nose if you wont some kind of pleco in there.

              Walter

I know how you fell about working alot. I work for the phone company & they will make us work 7 days a week at times.
But it does pay for more fishes.

If Jason changes his mind on the tank, let me know or please update on the thread as I would certainly be interested.  I didn't want to cut in line and cut him off on the deal.  It would have to sit for a while as I need to paint the wall it would against.  Maybe that would encourage me to get out the paint brushes

If you need some seasoned gravel I can let your borrow some. I just took it out of my 125 last weekend. It will help you get the bio load up a lot quicker.
You will get to kill 2 birds with the same stone.

I love taking pictures of my fish so there will be plenty of pictures if I have anything to do with it.

Holy cow!! I made it home with the tank!!! This thing is huge!!!! I will have to take pictures soon. It looks like it will be a few weeks before I am ready to fill it. My better half does not like the color of the stand so I have to paint it. Soon!! Soon!!

Well I think she has decided that she likes the color!! I really think it was not being able to park in the garage for a couple of weeks. Now we are trying to figure out where to put it. Its about 2ft longer than I had planned for.

I am sorry about not contacting you yesterday. I had to work a little over and was in such a hurry when I made it home I forgot to write contact info down. It came with around 100 to 130 pounds of gravel and about 75 pounds of rock. My wife said the gravel smelled bad (dead) although I could not smell it and it appeared to be somewhat wet in the bottom. Any way I filled it with water last night.

I am going to have to take some of my tap water and have it tested. So I can select my fish using the water condition I have already. Hopefully its close so I won't have to do to much too it.

As long as the tank is I am thinking maybe so kind of bright colored small schooling fish. though I am still pretty stuck on dwarf gouramis.
